Have you ever noticed how some eyeshadows just look totally “meh” on you, while others make you think, “Wow, I really do have lovely eyes.” That’s a little bit of color theory coming to play. Obviously, placement plays an important part for makeup, but choosing colors that compliment Y-O-U is a big step in the right direction.
Finally summer is here! Well, maybe not technically but the warm weather allowed me my first beach trip of the year. There I was toes in the sand, the sun shining down on me, hands on hips, taking in a deep breath of the fresh salty air and that’s when I realized, I was not ready to be at the beach (cue fast dash back to my towel, hat, & coverup). We’ve all experienced that moment when we’ve realized that we haven’t quite prepared like we should’ve (like when you're so regretting that second bowl of ice cream as you try to squeeze into your swim suit).
Doing the same thing day in and day out typically leads to one thing -- boredom. So if you've been feeling very "meh" about putting on makeup, there's (luckily) some very easy things that you can do so that you're makeup routine is something that you actually look forward to.
There's something about wearing more clothes for fall and winter that demands different makeup. Not packed-on makeup or anything too extreme, but rather, summer's darker sister. There's some sort of comfort in the monochromatic color that fall ushers in. Every gal feels a spark of excitement at the prospect of dark sultry eyes and deep-colored lipstick. Perhaps it's the welcome change that the cooler weather brings or maybe it's just another chance to test our artistic abilities. Maybe you're sitting there nodding your head as you read this or maybe you're completely lost but do notice that this is something new you can try this season (or maybe you've been on this trend already), either way I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite fall looks. As you all know, I'm a sucker for natural-looking makeup that enhances the "good stuff" that was already there.
I am a professional makeup artist and licensed cosmetologist. I absolutely enjoy sharing hair and makeup tips to help others enhance their natural beauty. (Trust me, you're gorgeous.)
